Michel’s story is an impressive one. Michel was born and raised in Cuba. Selected as an athlete at a young age Michel lived as an athlete for over 12 years. A career in health was always going to be the way forward for Michel, it’s in his blood. As an Olympic athlete, representing Cuba in the Sydney 2000 Olympic games, Michel’s understanding for the human body is nothing short of amazing. We are thrilled to have Michel here at Elevate.

Where do you come from/ where did you grow up?
Havana, Cuba .
What were your interests growing up?
All Sports .
What got you into the health industry?
I was selected to become a professional athlete at a young age. After living as a professional track and field athlete for 12 years the health industry was a natural progression for me.
How would you define optimal health and lifestyle/what is your philosophy?
Be involved in physical activities, exercise, eat healthily and think positively.
What do you try to achieve with your clients/patients?
That Every patient leaves feeling totally satisfied that their needs have been met.
What do you specialise in/ Focus on?
Sports massage, deep tissue massage, remedial massage, relaxation massage, hot stone massage, Pre-Natal massage and lymphatic drainage.
Qualifications/Education:
Bachelor degree in physical education - University of Havana, Cuba (2001) (recognized by the Australian government) (2008)
Personal Trainer - International Fitness Association (IFA) – USA (2004)
Licensed Massage Therapist – USA (2004)
Industry Association Member: Senior Level 1 Massage Therapist – Member of the Association of Massage Therapists of Australia (AMT) (2008) member # (1-6434).
What makes you different from other practitioners in your field?
My 12 year professional athlete background allows me to better understand the anatomy of the human body , exercise and muscular issues.
What are your interests now/ are you married/ do you have children?
I have One beautiful daughter
What are your proudest achievements/career highlights?
Representing Cuba at the Sydney 2000 Olympic games.
