Matt McCutcheon has grown up with a diverse range of sports and in turn a diverse range of injuries. Matt’s background has grown him into an extremely passionate practitioner who has vast knowledge on treating people and athletes from most sports. Matt has worked in London alongside some of Europe’s best orthopaedic surgeons and has had contact with several premier league footballers, international cricketers and rugby players. Matt is a huge asset to his clients and the Elevate team.
Where do you come from/ where did you grow up?
Melbourne
What were your interests growing up?
Sport- AFL, Basketball, athletics, rock climbing, cycling
How would you define optimal health and lifestyle/what is your philosophy?
Balance. Balance between work, fun, exercise, friends and family.
Lots of variety in who you spend time with, the activities you do and the places you do them. The people I know who have mastered this always seem to be energetic, happy and really interesting to talk to because they always have something on the go. I think this attitude keeps the mind and body supple and avoids stress and overload.
What do you try to achieve with your clients/patients?
A clear plan on what we are setting out to achieve which addresses their personal objectives and then a process of how to achieve it.
What do you specialise in/ Focus on?
Musculoskeletal problems especially sports injuries.

Bachelor of Physiotherapy, La Trobe University

Member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association (AOA)
What makes you different from other practitioners in your field?
A diverse set of sporting experiences allows me to have a clear idea on what demands are placed upon athletes in specific sports. Experiences whilst travelling abroad have taught me excellent interpersonal and communication skills which I feel help me understand the problem in its entirety. I have a strong background in exercise which enables me to develop and roll out rehab programs to meets almost any goals.
What makes you an expert?
My past experiences and a constant drive to be better and learn. I am about to embark upon my masters degree in sports physiotherapy.
What are your interests now?
I love all sports, but at the moment I am focussed on being a much better surfer.
What are your proudest achievements/career highlights?
Working in London with some of Europe’s best orthopaedic surgeons and having contact with several premier league footballers, international cricketers and rugby players.
