Where do you come from/ where did you grow up?
I was born and raised in Gent, a medieval city in East-Flanders, Belgium.
I have been living in Australia since 2003.

What were your interests growing up?
I come from a family who is absolutely passionate about athletics. So, I spent most of my childhood training and competing in discus throwing, shot-put, high jump and pole-vaulting. At 16 years of age I got interested in Natural Body Building and I became 3rd in the National Dutch Championships.

What got you into the health industry?
My Grandfather was very knowledgeable in traditional folk medicine. So from a young age I was making my own herbal concoctions, which let me to study Naturopathy. About 12 years ago, half way through my Naturopathy course I met, Nand van Ouytsel, a Belgian Quantum Physicist, Therapist and founder of Physio-Emotional-Energetic-Therapy, a form of Specialized Kinesiology, which is based on the founding’s of German New Medicine. Impressed with the fast, effective and long term results I got from this therapy, I was hooked for life and have been studying and practicing Physio-Emotional-Energetic-Therapy ever since. During the years, I have also added other fantastic therapies. Such as: different styles of Kinesiology, NLP, Life Coaching, Hypnosis, Time-Based Therapy, Reiki, Remedial Massage, Cranio-Sacral Therapy, Dry-Needling and Myofascial Release.

What is your philosophy?
I view health and healing from a holistic model, meaning that all aspects of a person are considered, i.e. their thoughts and feelings, the body and environment and that there are specific causes and reasons behind every pain, disease or symptom. I focus on the individual’s experience of their illness and the meaning it holds for them.

Kinesiology

Kinesiology embraces techniques derived from Western and Chinese medicine using acupressure and meridian systems.  Kinesiology combines this knowledge with modern muscle monitoring techniques to balance Mind, Body and Spirit.

Kinesiology is able to facilitate the natural healing process.

To first time clients, Kinesiology can be a somewhat mystifying experience. An often heard comment from new clients is: "I don't know what the therapist did, but it seemed to work because I definitely feel better".

A kinesiology treatment is known as 'a Balance' during which the client can either lie down on a massage table or sit in a comfortable chair. After comprehensive initial history taking, the kinesiologist uses muscle monitoring to address energetic imbalances.

Each Kinesiology balance is unique because it is determined by the responses gained from muscle monitoring.
A weak or unlocked muscle test indicates a disturbed energy flow - be it structural, chemical, nutritional, mental, emotional and spiritual. This stress may manifest in the person as some form of disease, an accident, poor nutritional or postural habits, an unresolved argument, personal trauma or crisis, even a misinterpretation. Stresses can also carry over from any time in the client's life.

For the client, most issues have been long forgotten because they tend to subside into the subconscious and are only brought back 'on-line', or into current consciousness, through the stimulus of a trigger event that in some way matches that past experience. When the bio-computer (brain) recognizes a stress match that it interprets as a survival threat, it can cause us to react in a similar way.

During a Kinesiology balance, people are amazed to find themselves recalling long forgotten incidents. The body however, never forgets because our survival-oriented structure means we hold all memories, particularly memories of negative experiences, somewhere in our system.

Consider how mental tension is felt as a tight jaw, tensed shoulders and a churning stomach. This is a purely mental event projected by the mind into the body as a physical sensation.

Kinesiology covers a vast range of balancing modalities with most of these emphasizing releasing emotions, particularly unresolved negative emotions.

Muscle monitoring can pinpoint these emotional triggers, and by bringing them back 'on-line', the person is given the chance to re-evaluate the events and the circumstances surrounding it.

In the context of their current life experience, they are then in a position to change their responses and to choose new and more relevant behavior.

Choice is the real key to resolving many stresses. Where there is choice, there is balance and where there is balance, there is also optimal wellness.

Each Kinesiology balance is different because it honors the person's own healing potential and the cycle it follows to bring about the extraordinary process that is “healing”.
