Massage

As well as being excellent stand-alone practitioners all of our massage therapists work closely with our Physiotherapists. This means that to work as a massage therapist at Elevate our therapists have to have outstanding anatomical knowledge as well as great massage skills.

Remedial Massage is aimed at restoring balance between muscles, nervous system and the supporting skeletal structure.

Our skilled therapist will manipulate the soft tissue of your body so that it will:

*       Improve circulation

*       Reduce muscle soreness and tension

*       Improve breathing function

*       Relieve stress

*       Release scar tissue

*       Correct posture

*       Increase flexibility

Remedial Massage includes combinations of the following techniques to achieve normalisation of soft tissue balance.

• Trigger Point Therapy
• Myofascial Release
• Deep Tissue Massage

Whatever your profession, age, or activity level may be, Remedial Massage can enhance your quality of life by reducing the effects of mental, physical, and emotional stress on your body.

Regular massage allows you to move more freely, breathe more fully, and leaves you less prone to injury. After a remedial massage session your body will be looser, more energized, and more alive!

Sports Massage

All serious athletes now rely on massage as an indispensable part of their training programs. Many studies have shown that sports massage improves an athlete's recovery, maintains their range of motion, and reduces risk of injury.

A regular massage will leave you relaxed and feeling great. A sport specific massage will do that and is also geared towards the stresses placed upon the body by the demands of the sport. For example: areas of stress for cyclists and dancers are the legs; for swimmers its the upper body; and for golfers its the spine and forearms. These areas are more likely to be tight and therefore develop trigger points and ultimately break down.

Regular Sports massage can:

*       Stretch and relax muscles thereby improving range of movement

*       Relieve pain and spasm

*       Identify sore areas before they develop into injuries

*       Speed recovery from training sessions

*       Give the athlete better mind/body awareness

*       Prepare the athlete for competition
