Verruca and Wart Experience

I had suffered with verrucae for about 8 years before I decided to try Hypnotherapy. I had tried all sorts of conventional treatments.  These included a variety of over the counter remedies from the chemist that you paint on.  I also tried alternative treatments such as Thuja tincture that you apply and Homoeopathic Thuja tablets that you take.   Nothing worked.

I then went to the doctor who suggested I went to their liquid nitrogen clinic, where the nurse administers two 30 second blasts of liquid nitrogen to freeze the warts and verrucae.  I underwent this treatment every 2 weeks for 3 years.  During this time rather than improving the verrucae spread. At this time the health practise reviewed its policy and decided that as the treatment was generally ineffective the verruca clinic was closed down.

I then decided after a year’s break from any treatment, to consult a chiropodist.  At this stage my left foot was covered with verrucae and my heel had developed a deep split.  There were also many warts on my right hand.  At my first appointment, I said “I don’t expect you to get rid of them, but I need you to keep them under control, as they grow each week”. She said “that is a defeatist comment”. I said “I have had them for 8 years and nothing has got rid of them so far”!

I went every week for a year and the verrucae were not getting any better.  When one went another would come and I got depressed about it.  So I then went back to my doctor who arranged for me to see a skin specialist who would treat the wart and verruca’s like they would skin cancer.  A bit extreme I thought.

While I was waiting for the appointment, 3 months away, I decided to try acupuncture. I had 6 sessions once a week, but this didn’t work either.

Then somebody suggested trying Hypnotherapy as the mind has healing powers that we don’t fully use. I thought I have tried everything else so I will give it a go.

I went along to 3 sessions and was asked to concentrate on the wart or verruca that was bothering me the most.  This was a large one on my thumb which I felt very self-conscious about. I was all so given a CD of a session to take home to listen to every day.  Within three weeks of the first session to my surprise and that of my Chiropodist, who I was still going to once a week, the large wart on my thumb disappeared.  It was very encouraging. Then a week later those on my heel started to go, a few at a time each week.  The chiropodist said, “Whatever you are doing keep it up”.  She now encourages her patients who are covered in warts and verrucae to do the same. 

The sessions also included a self-confidence booster, I was having worries and nervous issues about driving cars that were new to me.  This left me unable to drive on my own and knocked my confidence.  I am now happy to drive either of our cars with confidence even though they were new to me.   

In the meantime my appointment came up to see the Skin Specialist, I went along and said I am very sorry, but when I went to see the doctor 3 months ago my left foot and right hand were covered in verrucae and warts.  I feel I am wasting your time as I only have 6 left. I told him that I had been to a Hypnotherapist while I was waiting for this appointment. He gave me a funny look and said well you seem to be doing well at the moment, if they come back, come and see me.    

I am now much more confident about my health and life in general, because I have the power within myself to get rid of those warts or anymore that dare to appear!
