Acupuncture and Fertility/IVF

If you or your partner find yourselves challenged with fertility issues, acupuncture can improve your chances of conceiving - either naturally or via IVF. Fertility issues are viewed in TCM as an energetic imbalance within the body, and acupuncture is used correct this imbalance and offer the body the best possible chance of conceiving and producing healthy children.

Recent studies have shown an increase in conception rates where IVF recipients have received acupuncture during treatment. Acupuncture is now routinely used during IVF to improve the chances of conception. Treatment is focused on reducing stress, strengthening the immune system, improving ovarian function, maintaining implantation, nourishing embryo growth regulating hormones, relaxing the uterus and preventing uterine contractions. In men, treatment is focused on improving semen quantity and quality.

Acupuncture is also used successfully to treat recurrent miscarriage.
